All of our Zi Sha teapots are 100% hand made. Unlike those mass production teapots, every hand made teapot is unique. No two hand made teapots are identical. This definitely adds the attractiveness to a teapot. How do you tell if your teapots are 100% hand made? A quick exam of the inside of a teapot can answer this question. A 100% hand made teapot only has one unobvious connection line at the joint spot of handle and body. A mold made teapot on the other hand has two connection lines. One is at the joint spot of mouth and body, the other one is at the joint spot of handle and body.

I'm interested in buying a teapot to brew my favorite old pu er...I've seen some teapots which external appearance is quite shiny...does this mean that the teapot has been polished and as a consequence that it is a bad quality teapot ? or are there teapots that are shiny and of good quality ? a difference of brightness between inside and outside is it a sign of bad quality ?

A high quality Zi Sha teapot will absorb tea oil and gradually develop the desired natural, soft, and smooth shininess after being carefully raised. Some people on purposely polish low end teapots to fake the shininess. If a teapot looks unnaturally shinny, or as you asked, its inside and outside wall look quite different, you better be careful.

Your website is great! My question is, besides the obvious difference in color, are there any other differences between the three types of zisha teapots (purple, red and green)? For instance, is one type more suited for brewing pu'er tea, etc.? Thanks!
